We use high quality vaccines in order to decrease the incidence of adverse reactions.

Our standard of care for vaccine protocol is as follows:

Vaccines beginning around 8 weeks of age-

PUPPY series: THESE ARE CORE (must have) vaccines

Three distemper,hepatitis,parvo,parainfluenza,corona-(DHPPC-) about three weeks apart

This is an all-in-one vaccination to protect your dog from five diseases- These diseases are debilitating and can cause death. Nearly every dog will be exposed during its lifetime, making vaccination a must. Parvo is an intestinal viral infection that results in bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting and extreme depression. It is highly contagious and life threatening.  Coronavirus is a disease similar to Parvo, but less threatening.

Two BORDETELLA Vaccines

This vaccine is given to dogs to prevent tracheobronchitis (kennel cough), which is caused by a dry, hacking cough that can persist for six or more weeks.  If your pet is boarded, groomed, shown, or around other dogs, we recommend vaccination.

RABIES VACCINE

A one year Rabies vaccine given around 14-16 weeks of age - This is a state requirement. Rabies is spread by contact with the saliva of infected animals through a bite or a break in the skin. Your pet must receive a second rabies vaccine WITHIN 365 days of the initial one in order to be boostered as a three year vaccine.

PUPPY VACCINES:  NONE-CORE (elective based upon pet lifestyle)

LEPTOSPIROSIS- two vaccines-  initial and boostered after 14 days- then given annually

This vaccine protects your canine from the more common serovar's (strains). This disease can be contracted by sniffing, drinking or walking through infected water or through a bite wound.  Carriers of this disease include dogs, raccoons, skunks and rats.   This is a zoonotic disease meaning it can be transmitted to humans.

LYME- two vaccines- initial and boostered after 14 days- then given annually-

Lime disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by the deer tick which affects both humans and animals. If your dog lives in an area where there are deer ticks, it should be vaccinated.
